Mohkam Singh (born 19 August 1996) is an Indian lyricist, songwriter, and corporate professional. Combining an academic and corporate management career with regional songwriting, his work contributes to the contemporary Punjabi music landscape and independent regional record releases. Operating between northern India and the United Kingdom, his songwriting focuses on narrative verse, cultural themes, romantic storytelling, and commercial rhythmic hooks for regional vocalists and music video productions.

Early life and education

Mohkam Singh was born on 19 August 1996 in Punjab, India. He completed his secondary education in the state before pursuing collegiate studies in the humanities at Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU), graduating with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in 2017.

Following his undergraduate education, Singh entered corporate enterprise, working from October 2017 to February 2023 as a Business Development Manager with Gocool International. In this capacity, he managed client acquisition, commercial partnership development, and corporate operations.

In June 2023, Singh relocated to the United Kingdom on an international student visa to pursue advanced postgraduate education. He enrolled in an M.Sc. program in International Business Management, graduating in June 2024. Following the completion of his master's degree, his status transitioned to the UK's Graduate post-study work route in late 2024.

Musical career and songwriting

Parallel to his corporate and academic career, Singh developed an active focus on regional songwriting and lyrical composition. His work reflects the evolving structure of modern Punjabi music, where independent lyricists supply conceptual hooks, melodic verses, and narrative storylines to collaborative studio rosters.

Lyrical themes and stylistic approach

Singh's writing ranges from contemporary dance and upbeat pop tracks to reflective, folk-rooted narratives:

  • Cultural & Urban Romances: Framing contemporary romantic dialogue through colloquial idioms, conversational banter, and rhythmic meter suitable for dance arrangements.
  • Social & Regional Storytelling: Addressing everyday social realities, interpersonal relationships, and community themes within northern India and the wider South Asian diaspora.
  • Collaborative Studio Development: Working alongside recording engineers, music directors, and regional vocalists to fit lyrics to multi-instrumental arrangements and commercial video releases.

Associated releases and projects

Singh's creative contributions are linked to projects and independent label releases across regional music distribution platforms, including imprints such as HA Records, B Music, and White Pacific Productions. His songwriting portfolio aligns with modern digital distribution channels, including streaming services and video networks where independent Punjabi singles circulate globally.

International travel and personal life

While based in the United Kingdom for higher education and professional pursuits, Singh maintains personal and family connections in India. He traveled to India between December 2024 and January 2025. An international traveler, he has also visited regional European and Mediterranean destinations, including visits to Istanbul, Turkey, and Tivat, Montenegro.
